Bus Travel in Canada

In this fast paced world, the joys of 'travelling in the slow lane' have largely been forgotten. Bus travel is not designed to quickly whisk you from one location to another. Rather it is designed to give you a relaxing tour of the country, stoping at smaller towns, and letting someone else worry about the driving and the gas prices. Air conditioned in summer and heated in the winter, buses are a particularly excellent way to tour Canada in our snowy seasons.

Buses are also an excellent way to meet the locals, so if you want to really meet some Canadians, hop on the bus!

Bus travel in Canada is limited to a few companies, aside from localized bus and charter companies in various locations. The phone book yellow pages for the city you are visiting will list local charters.

greyhound busGreyhound Canada serves the country west of Ottawa, Ontario. They also have extensive service throughout the United States and some in Mexico. Visit their website for fares, schedules and ticketing for over 1100 locations.

Acadian Bus Lines serves the Atlantic Provinces of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.

DRL Coachlines in Newfoundland also offers tours of the province in addition to its regular schedule.

Orleans Express - serves mainly Quebec. With four departures per day from Quebec City to the Pierre Eliot Trudeau Airport, the service caters to the special requirements of the region.
